101 College Street // New Haven, CT Size: 500,000 sf // Architect: Elkus-Manfredi Architects Winstanley Enterprises

Dimeo Construction Company recently completed the core and shell of a new 500,000 sf ten story office and life sciences research development facility located at 101 College Street in New Haven, CT. The building is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and in addition to the new building, features a parking area for 116 vehicles, loading docks at service drives and site improvements including a semi-public outdoor courtyard, sidewalks and streetscape improvements.

STEM Research Center Science One Building // Storrs, CT Size: 180,000 sf // Architect: Payette Architects University of Connecticut

Dimeo Construction Company recently completed the University’s new STEM Research Center, as part of the Northwest Science Quad District. This new campus district houses the expansion of UCONN’s research enterprise in a distinct campus quadrangle. It is designed to meet both the current and future programmatic requirements of the University as it seeks to balance the anticipated rise in student enrollment in STEM programs with future research needs. The building program includes research, teaching, administrative, a clean room, a series of material science specific core labs, a 300-seat auditorium and support spaces. The building has been award LEED Gold.

Center for Sciences and Innovation // Providence, RI Size: 73,000 sf // Architect: ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge, Inc. Johnson & Wales University

Johnson & Wales University new John J. Bowen Center for Science and Innovation is the first facility to be built on the land that became available with the realignment of Interstate 195. The new 73,000 sf, three story, LEED Gold building serves as the home to JWU’s School of Engineering & Design and the College of Arts & Science’s new biology program. Building highlights include:

New Corporate Campus // Johnston, RI Size: 425,000 sf // Architect: Elkus-Manfredi Architects Citizens Bank

Citizens Financial Group selected Dimeo Construction Company to serve as their construction manager for the new corporate campus on an undeveloped parcel of land west of I-295 in Johnston, RI. The campus includes approximately 425,000 sf of office and meeting space, collaborative work spaces, dining and fitness facilities — as well as a 1300 space parking garage, baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, and trails that the local community will use. Approximately 3,000 employees occupy the new campus.

Educational Program // Warwick, RI Size: 95,000 sf // Architect: Edward Rowse Architects, Inc. National Elevator Industry

Dimeo Construction Company completed the 95,000 sf National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) project in Warwick, RI. The new facility is comprised of educational space, tool shop, office space as well as a rental space for the local Elevator Union branch. All new MEP’s, new electrical service, new entrance to the building and metal panels on the exterior of the building with an entire new roof assembly with EPDM insulated roofing system.

Corporate Office Renovations // Burlington, MA Size: 125,000 sf // Architect: SGA Oracle

The newest addition to Oracle’s four-building Burlington campus consists of a five story structure with approximately 125,000 sf of office space, including conference rooms, private offices, open landscape cubicles and a small cafeteria. The project was completed in five months and achieved LEED gold rating.

Corporate Office Renovations // Warwick, RI Size: 366,000 sf // Architect: Woods Bagot Metlife

MetLife completed a phased interior renovations project at its office building located at 700 Quaker Lane, Warwick, RI, with approximately 366,000 rentable square feet. The project was intended to bring this building in line with MetLife’s workspace standards with new workstations, food service and fitness facility expansion and improvements, enhanced conference and huddle room spaces, and branding. The building houses approximately 1650 employees in a fresh, modern new environment.

Corporate Offices // Johnston, RI Size: 395,000 sf // Architect: Vision 3 Architects FM Global

FM Global, a FORTUNE 1000 company and one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, commissioned Dimeo to manage the construction of their new corporate offices in Johnston, RI. The new 395,000 sf building makes more efficient use of space than FM Global’s former headquarters located nearby and allows for future growth. The four story building accommodates 1,100 employees and includes conference and board rooms as well as a Tier 3 Data Center and structured parking for 900 vehicles.

Northwoods Renovation // Johnston, RI Size: 338,000 sf // Architect: Margulies Peruzzi Architects FM Global

The renovations to FM Global’s former headquarters, known as Northwoods, encompassES 338,600 sf of highly efficient office space. Three independent entrances accommodate three major tenants, as well as many smaller ones, and amenities include a full service cafeteria with access to a landscaped deck overlooking a landscaped campus setting with a walking path and pond, showers, locker room & exercise facility, and 1300 parking spaces (expansion parking available as needed). A complete gut demo of the existing office building including all MEP— a completely new curtainwall system, MEP/FP systems, new entrances, bathroom cores, elevators and cafeteria/ server. New heating, cooling and electrical systems, as well as a new glass curtain wall help raise the building’s energy efficiency as the project achieved LEED Gold certification.

Office Renovations // Bloomfield, CT Size: 620,000 sf // Architect: Friar Associates Cigna

This fast-track renovation took place in an occupied environment and included 4,200 work sta tions, fitness area, library, file storage, consultant space, medical & video conferencing, a sales cen ter, and major infrastructure improvements.

Science Building // New Haven, CT Size: 280,000 sf // Architect: Stantec / Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects Yale University

The Yale Science Building is a seven-level structure which includes a rooftop greenhouse, aquatics & insect labs, animal care labs, state-of-the-art imaging technology, quantitative biology center, innovative physics labs, chemical storage, and a 500-seat lecture hall. The structure is home to labs, classrooms, and research support spaces dedicated to understanding the evolution of plants, disease vectors of insects, and atomic, molecular, and optical physics. A primary goal of the project was to eliminate disciplinary silos and encourage collaboration across specialized scientific plat forms. Project planning occurred over a 21 month timeline, from design concepts through GMP, including multiple design iterations, environmental impact studies and geometric revisions.

New Call Center, Data Center, and Parking // Woonsocket, RI Size: 290,000 sf // Architect: Cube 3 CVS Caremark

Dimeo built a new 2-story, LEED Gold office building which includes a 32,000+ sf data center, a full service cafeteria and training facilities. The 150,000+ sf building consists of a steel structure with metal panels, block veneer and curtain wall shell. The Data Center is designed with N+1 redundancy to ensure that it will stay operational through any situation and includes two 40,000 gallon underground storage tanks to support 3 on-site generators, 3 transformers, switchgear/ UPS vaults, extensive underground trenching for data and power cables, and a raised access floor system. This project also included a 4-story, precast parking garage for 427 cars with a glass enclosed bridge links the garage to the main building. Reserved parking areas for car pool vehicles and motorcycles are an integral part of the green design.
