The structure is home to labs, classrooms, and research support spaces dedicated to understanding the evolution of plants, disease vectors of insects, and atomic, molecular, and optical physics. A primary goal of the project was to eliminate disciplinary silos and encourage collaboration across specialized scientific platforms. Project planning occurred over a 21 month timeline, from design concepts through GMP, including multiple design iterations, environmental impact studies and geometric revisions.
