Residential Redevelopment Phases I-III // Norwalk, CT Total Size: 359,838 sf // Architect: ICON Architecture / DKH Architects, Inc. Washington Village

The Washington Village Redevelopment effort is a three phase project designed to revitalize South Norwalk. The initiative replaces the 136 unit public housing project with a new 273 apartment complex, 50 percent of which will be reserved for public housing. The project is in a Coastal Flood Zone and will be constructed simultaneously with the City of Norwalk’s reconstruction of adjacent Raymond and Day Streets to mitigate flood damage to the development. The site accommodates surface level parking, in addition to exterior surface parking, landscaping, site lighting, street trees, and sidewalk. This residential redevelopment initiative represents total collaboration of Federal, State and Local agencies and is also being administered under two section 3 guidelines.
