The historic Commons is the first building dedicated to student life and will be retained for major university events. The Schwarzman Center includes student meeting spaces and creative dining options, flexible spaces for special events, and state-of-the-art technology. In addition, Dimeo Construction Company was secured, along with Architect Wiss, Janney, and Elstner Associates, for additional repairs to the Dome’s failed existing flat seam lead-coated copper (LCC) cladding. Dimeo repaired the structural components that had deteriorated with supplemental steel. The additional work scope included erecting scaffolding encompassing the entire Dome and replacing 1/3 of the upper (LCC).
