Jimmy will be responsible for onsite operations during the construction phase of the project. In his role, Jim will have responsibility for administering to all aspects of communications and reporting, as well as the monitoring of project cost, schedule, quality and safety performance of the team and will interface with the client/client representative, consultant and subcontractor teams on issues relating to execution of the work and overall project performance. He’ll be located full time onsite reporting directly to the Project Executive and will have an active and lead role in support of the preconstruction and procurement phases. As the superintendent, Kevin will lead the supervision, coordination, and sequence all field construction activities. He will report daily on all onsite activities, including safety compliance, and will conduct regular coordination meetings where these issues and others will be discussed among the subcontractors. He will be Dimeo’s onsite contact and will administer all field project activities. Kevin brings a wealth of hands-on construction knowledge and overall organizational capabilities in running healthcare, education and commercial construction projects, including supervision in occupied construction environments. Stephen will assist the Project Manager with administration and execution of onsite operations involving mechanical, engineering and plumbing. He will also assist the Superintendent and lead the coordination of activities associated with the fabrication, Lean scheduling, coordination, installation quality and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems. He will monitor and communicate project status and constructability reviews with various stakeholders and provide regular updates on cost, schedule, quality and safety. Mugar Lab Renovations // Boston, MA Size: 17,000 sf // Architect: Goody Clancy Northeastern University
The Mugar Life Sciences Building, one of the oldest science buildings on campus, was constructed in 1941. The project focused on renovating five different laboratories while the building was fully occupied. Scope of work included new MEPFP systems, laboratory casework, and finishes.

Since 2002 Dimeo has completed various renovations and fit-ups on Pfizer’s Connecticut campuses in Groton and New London. Our first project, Building 260 renovations, included reconfiguring opewn space to create new offices and installation of new MEP systems. Additional projects have included expanding the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) laboratory; KHTC Perimeter Security Upgrade; removal and replacement of an existing product freezer; PGRD Security System Upgrade; W115 LAT Relocation, consisting of interior lab renovation and relocation; 118 W Advanced Library Tech., Phases One & Two with renovation and modification of lab space including animal care labs; and the NLC1 Training Center Renovations.
101 College Street // New Haven, CT Size: 500,000 sf // Architect: Elkus-Manfredi Architects Winstanley Enterprises
Construction is underway on a new 500,000 sf ten story office and life sciences research development facility located at 101 College Street in New Haven, CT. The building is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and in addition to the new building, will feature a parking area for 116 vehicles, loading docks at service drives and site improvements including a semi-public outdoor courtyard, sidewalks and streetscape improvements. Dimeo Construction Company will also perform a significant portion of the end-user lab fit-out work throughout the building.

STEM Research Center Science One Building // Storrs, CT Size: 180,000 sf // Architect: Payette Architects University of Connecticut
Dimeo Construction Company was selected as construction manager for the University’s new STEM Research Center, as part of the Northwest Science Quad District. This new campus district will house the expansion of UCONN’s research enterprise in a distinct campus quadrangle. It will be designed to meet both the current and future programmatic requirements of the University as it seeks to balance the anticipated rise in student enrollment in STEM programs with future research needs. The building program includes research, teaching, administrative, a clean room, a series of material science-specific core labs, a 300-seat auditorium and support spaces.
Cell & Gene Therapy Clinical Manufacturing Expansion // Providence, RI Size: 21,360 sf // Architect: CI Design, Inc. Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Dimeo Construction Company recently completed the Cell & Gene Therapy Clinical Manufacturing Expansion project in Providence, Rhode Island. This project was approached in two parts. The first, to create a new 13,500 sf of new Clinical Manufacturing clean space for cell and gene therapy, including architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure upgrades. The second part was the occupied renovation of the existing 4,400 sf of research and development space.

The new 73,000sf, three-story, LEED Gold rating, building serves as home to JWU’s School of Engineering & Design and the College of Arts & Science’s new biology program. The building will house the Alan Shawn Feinstein Technology & Design Center, biology labs that support physics, chemistry, organic chemistry and microbiology, faculty offices and an outdoor courtyard designed to support collaborative learning.
College of Engineering // Kingston, RI Size: 186,000 sf // Architect: Ballinger Architects University of Rhode Island
The new 186,000 “H”-shaped facility, which includes a walk-out lower level, 6-story bridge structure and 2 - 4 story office wings, replaces five separate buildings built in the 1950 and 60’s. The first floor, located on the Quad level, has a large south-facing commons and computer lab, and features a clear span commons area with café, with no columns, as part of the bridge structure. The first floor also features a combination of instructional labs and interactive classrooms opening up to student interaction spaces. The upper floors comprise flexible, modular labs near the faculty offices and graduate student workstations. The project was designed to meet LEED Silver standards.

The Yale Science Building is a new seven-level structure which includes a rooftop greenhouse, aquatics & insect labs, animal care labs, state-of-the-art imaging technology, quantitative biology center, innovative physics labs, chemical storage, and a 500-seat lecture hall. The structure is home to labs, classrooms, and research support spaces dedicated to understanding the evolution of plants, disease vectors of insects, and atomic, molecular, and optical physics. A primary goal of the project was to eliminate disciplinary silos and encourage collaboration across specialized scientific platforms. Project planning occurred over a 21 month timeline, from design concepts through GMP, including multiple design iterations, environmental impact studies and geometric revisions.

Sterling Chemistry Laboratory // New Haven, CT Size: 160,000 sf // Architect: Cannon Design Yale University
The Sterling Chemistry Lab project consisted of renovations/addition to a 90,000 sf facility. Scope included demolition & new construction of 75,000 sf of the building inclusive of new roof structure to enclose a lab and teaching spaces. The project provides for new Chemistry and Biology laboratories as well as Office, Lecturer and support. The project included over 220 fume hoods. The project utilized BIM extensively, and earned LEED Gold certification.
Kline Chemistry Laboratory // New Haven, CT Size: 79,000 sf // Architect: HBRA Yale University
The renovations to Yale University’s Kline Chemistry Laboratory created state-of-the-art science research labs. Project scope includes an interior gut renovation of the building to make way for all new labs and lab support areas, chemical storage, new casework, medical gases and 220 fume hoods. Exterior envelope improvements and a new 14,000sf mechanical penthouse on the roof were also included in the project. Energy reduction strategies include the use of high-performance hoods, heat recovery systems and fan-wall technology achieving LEED Gold rating.
