New Stadium // Pawtucket, RI Size: 71,175 sf // Architect: LaBella Architects Centreville Bank Stadium

Designed by Odell Associates (Architect of Record) and JCJ Architecture (Associate Architect), this state-of-the-art, 10,700-seat, fully electric stadium is home to Rhode Island FC, a USL Champion ship club. The stadium features a synthetic turf field, Daktronics LED scoreboards, and comprehensive ame nities, including locker rooms, team offices, retail spaces, food and beverage concessions, public restrooms, and hospitality areas. The project scope also encompassed utility infrastructure, includ ing storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water distribution, electrical and low-voltage systems, surface parking, public plazas, and gathering spaces. The stadium is designed to host various events, including international soccer matches, rugby games, and concerts, establishing it as a premier sports and entertainment destination in the re gion.

Renovation Project // Hartford, CT Size: 320,000 sf // $140,000,000 Architect: SCI Architects XL Center

The XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, is undergoing a comprehensive, multi-phased renovation to modernize the facility, meet contemporary standards, and enhance the overall guest experi ence. Phase 1a focuses on constructing a new 4,000-square-foot addition along Ann Uccello Street to house a Sports Betting Lounge. This phase also includes modernizing the west side freight ele vator and replacing the lower bowl retractable seating, enhancing functionality and flexibility for various events. Phase 1b addresses critical infrastructure needs by upgrading the building’s electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and mechanical systems, primarily on Event Level 31. Subject to remaining available funds after completing Phase 1a, this phase may also encompass constructing a portion of a premium club, bunker suites, kitchen and concession areas, storage, meeting rooms, and ad ditional toilet facilities on Event Level 31. M & T Bank Arena // Hamden, CT Size: 191,800 sf // Architect: Centerbrook Architects & Planners Quinnipiac University

The M&T Bank Arena at Quinnipiac University, formerly the TD Banknorth Sports Center, is a 191,800-sf facility that contains a 3,710-seat basketball arena and a 3,247-seat hockey arena. The arenas are joined by a common lobby area for concession stands and ticket sales. The center also includes offices, locker rooms, club and premium seating, conference and meeting rooms, storage, and weight-training facilities. It also offers athletic rehab and varsity strength and conditioning. Dimeo provided value engineering suggestions during the design development and construction document phases, as requested by Quinnipiac University. Over $2.3 million in project savings were incorporated into the final construction documents—many value engineering suggestions related to MEP systems, site work, and building infrastructure. The arena became the home of Quinnipiac’s NCAA Division I hockey and basketball programs. The building was the first in Quinnipiac’s $150 million economic development project at its 230-acre York Hill campus.

Burton Football Complex & Shenkman Training Center // Storrs, CT Size: 170,800 sf // Architect: JCJ / Populous University of Connecticut

Dimeo completed the Burton Football Complex & Shenkman Training Center for the University of Connecticut Storrs campus. The 170,000-sf building has an indoor practice field, fitness area, locker facility, meeting rooms, training/sports medicine facility and clinic, academic resources areas, and audiovisual and public areas. The 120-yard, 90’ high indoor practice field contains artificial turf and is partially illuminated by natural light. The 18,000 sf strength and conditioning area includes a mezzanine with a five-lane, 60-yard track, and the 4,250 sf locker facility provides space for athletes and coaches. The exteriors include brick, metal siding, standing seam metal roofing, and curtain wall. Extensive utility and site improvement relocations had to be performed before work on the building could commence. The project design received LEED Silver certification, the first college athletic project in the nation to earn this designation.

Joanne Chouinard-Luth Recreation and Wellness Center // Worcester, MA Size: 52,000 sf // Architect: Cannon Design College of the Holy Cross

The Campus Recreation Center is a new 52,000 gsf facility that will replace the existing Field House. It includes a 4,000 sf lower level area for the Public Safety Dept. The Recreation Center has a two-court gymnasium with an elevated jogging track, weights and fitness, multipurpose rooms, and support facilities such as lockers and administrative offices. The lower level serves as the primary location for campus police and security.

Roof Replacement // Providence, RI Size: 120,000 sf // Architect: Building Enclosure Science (BES) Amica Mutual Pavilion

Dimeo recently completed the roof replacement for the Amica Mutual Pavilion (AMP). The proj ect scope included the demolition, abatement, and replacement of the original 120,000 SF roof assembly at the AMP, roof drain bowl assemblies, spot replacement of metal decking, and some ancillary projects, including modifications to the control room, upgrades to the PC Friar VIP Area, and new epoxy floors in the corridors around the arena.

Ruane Friar Development Center // Providence, RI Size: 58,000 sf // Architect: Perkins Eastman Providence College

Dimeo Construction Company completed the Providence College Ruane Friar Development Center in Providence, RI. A new gift from former Providence College Board of Trustees Chair Michael A. Ruane ’71 & ’13 Hon. and his wife, Elizabeth Ruane, enabled the construction of the Ruane Friar Development Center. Phase I of the project concentrated on the men’s basketball, athletic training center, athlete sup port services, offices, a new Friar Athletics Hall of Fame, and a dining room. It will promote aca demic success, team-building, skills development, conditioning, and wellness.

Meehan Auditorium Renovation // Providence, RI Size: 10,000 sf // Architect: Moser Pilon Nelson Brown University

Dimeo completed this six- month, $7.3 million renovation to Brown’s Meehan Auditorium. The auditorium seats 3,100 and is easily recognized by its great domed roof. The domed architecture provides for no obstructed-view seats, making every seat in the house a great place to catch all the action. Scope of work included the addition of a new main entrance and concession area, new ice sheet, a new zamboni facility, new locker rooms, painting of the dome, new boards and glass, exterior renovations, and various other renovations throughout the facility to modernize it and bring into code compliance.
