This three-story facility plus mechanical penthouse encompasses 174,000 sf of new space and includes 36 new private patient rooms, ten new operating rooms, new PACU unit (25 beds), an expanded radiology/DI suite, medical education/community conference rooms, private patient rooms twice as large as current semi-private rooms, a new cafeteria and an expanded gift shop. Construction activities took place directly outside of the active OR suite on a tight site with a restricted laydown area in the Summit residential neighborhood of the city. Construction activities were restricted to certain hours so as not to disturb the adjacent neighbors and the site was completely fenced and barricaded to avoid any unauthorized access. Dimeo worked with the Hospital’s Community Liaison, provided construction updates for the Hospital newsletter, and attended quarterly community meetings to keep the community informed of any activities that may affect them. Dimeo also erected a community bulletin board to keep neighbors/visitors updated on various activities.
